Counselling for Anxiety
The Why
If you're in a relationship with anxiety, it may feel like being stuck in your head with looping thoughts, tension in your body, or a sense of being disconnected from the present moment. You might long for rest, but find it hard to truly relax.
Anxiety doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It often shows up alongside:
Perfectionism, shaped by cultural or systemic pressures
Difficulty setting boundaries, especially in environments where saying no hasn't felt safe
Intrusive thoughts and rumination, which can reflect survival strategies
Anger or irritability, which are valid emotional responses to stress and injustice
The How
Anxiety is not a personal failure—it’s often a response to past harm, chronic stress, or the demands of navigating oppressive systems. And while it's exhausting, you don't have to carry it alone.
In therapy, we’ll work together to:
Build tools to regulate and soothe your nervous system
Understand the roots of your anxiety—personal, relational, and systemic
Gently heal the emotional wounds that fuel it
My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and justice. You deserve support that honors all of who you are.
The Where
Counselling sessions are tailored to meet you where you are at in your healing journey. Sessions can take place:
Virtually. Meeting you in the comfort of your own home.
In Nature. Being in nature reminds us we are part of something larger. It helps soften the urgency and pressure of daily life, offering space to breathe, pause, and reconnect with ourselves outside of judgment or expectation. It can gently calm the body’s stress responses and open space for reflection and healing.
